Problem Identification: Among the user feedback, clients outlined a list of pain points for SIS need to be addressed:


  1. Traditional layout design.

  2. Some pages are not convenient to use, for example: user cannot change medical plan directly.

  3. Many input fields in one screen.

  4. Cannot search saved proposal by client name.

  5. SIS and SMART are not well integrated together.

First, we have analysed the current SIS system and its two major key competitors, which are AIA and Manulife. Also, we identified and summarised the 4 key journeys in YF Life SIS system, thus to compare the features and design components.

We focus on analysis the SIS system and evaluated the user interface and user experience across key design dimensions from AIA and Manulife. The analysis follow the three indicators to show how important the element need to be added, which are ''Suggest to add'', ''Consider to add'' and ''Nice to have''.

We have interviewed total 8 stakeholders and users in YFLife to gather their needs and wants about the current SIS's dissatisfaction, future needs, expectations and preferences. Based on the findings from interview, we have defined 3 types of persona.

Provide Design & Prototype: After creating a new design language system for YFLife's SIS System, we based on the existing design and research result to provide the redesigned interface. Additionally, we have developed a prototype to effectively demonstrate the proposed design.
